Filter Replacement and Maintenance in Euless

We change the cartridges, membranes and media that keep your system working, and we check the parts around them while we're there. You get an arrival window when you book and a call if the day shifts, so you can plan the rest of your day.

What happens on a filter service visit

No filter lasts forever. Carbon cartridges clog with chlorine and organic compounds, sediment filters fill with grit until pressure falls, and RO membranes gradually let more dissolved solids slip by. It all happens slowly, which is why changes get put off.

We handle filter replacement and maintenance for whole-house carbon systems, iron and sediment filters, under-sink reverse osmosis units and water softeners, including ones someone else installed, as long as parts are still available. If a new filter won't solve the problem you're seeing, we say so and recommend water testing before you spend more.

A typical visit runs an hour or two. You get the arrival window when you book, and if an earlier job goes long, we call before your window is up, not afterward.

What we do on a maintenance visit

  1. 01

    Cartridge and media swaps

We replace sediment, carbon and specialty cartridges with the right size and micron rating for your housing. Old cartridges get bagged and leave with us.

  2. 02

    RO prefilters and membranes

Under-sink units get new prefilters and a fresh polishing filter. We check the membrane with a TDS meter and replace it only when the reading says it's time. Then we flush the tank so your first glass doesn't taste stale.

  3. 03

    Housings, O-rings and leak checks

We clean each housing, lube or replace the O-ring and watch the seal under full pressure. Many whole-house systems around Euless sit in garages, where summer heat is hard on plastic and rubber, so we look closely for hairline cracks. Anything worn gets shown to you with a photo before we replace it.

  4. 04

    Softener and backwash checks

We check valve settings, salt level and the brine tank for a salt bridge. If something looks off, we run a regeneration cycle and watch it.

  5. 05

    Pressure readings

We note water pressure before and after the change. You see what the new filter actually did.

  6. 06

    A written service record

You get a note listing what was replaced, the date and when the next change is due. No guessing a year from now.

Signs your filters are due

  • The taste or smell is back

A chlorine or musty taste returning usually means the carbon is spent. It stopped grabbing what it used to.

  • Weak pressure at the shower

A clogged sediment cartridge chokes flow to the whole house. It often shows up first upstairs or at the farthest bathroom.

  • The RO faucet runs slow

If the drinking water tap trickles or the tank takes all day to refill, the prefilters or membrane are likely plugged.

  • Stains or grit returning

Orange marks in the toilet or specks in the aerator after a clean stretch mean an iron or sediment filter is overloaded.

  • Drips around a housing

A wet spot under the filter often points to a tired O-ring or a cracked housing. It's cheaper to catch now than after it soaks the drywall.

  • Nobody knows the last change date

If you bought the home with a system in place, assume it's due. We'll find out what's in there and start a record.

How the visit runs

  1. 1

You call and we set a date

Give us the brand, or describe the housings and where they sit, plus your best guess at the last change. That way we show up with the right parts on the truck. We set a date and an arrival window on the same call.

  2. 2

We confirm and keep you posted

We check in the day before. If a part is held up or a job runs over, we call with a new time instead of leaving you waiting at home.

  3. 3

    We do the work

We shut water to the system, relieve pressure and put down a tray and towels. We swap the media, check every seal and bring the water back slowly to push out air. Then we watch for leaks before packing up.

  4. 4

We clean up and plan the next one

We wipe the area down, take the old filters away and show you what came out. We write down the next due date, and if you want, we set that visit before we leave.

What moves the price of filter service

The price depends on what's in your system and how much of it is due. Once we know the make and setup, we can give you a quote by phone. If we find something extra on the day, we explain it and you decide before we touch it.

How many filters you have
A single under-sink unit costs less to service than a whole-house carbon tank paired with a sediment prefilter and an RO system.
Whether the membrane is due
RO membranes last longer than prefilters. A visit with a membrane change costs more than one without.
Access
A system in an open garage is quick. A tight sink cabinet or an attic install takes more time.
Parts for older systems
Common housings use standard cartridges. Older or off-brand units may need special-order parts, which can add cost and a few days.
Repairs found along the way
A cracked housing, stuck bypass valve or failing faucet adds parts and labor. We show you first.

Filter service questions

How long do filters last before they need replacing?

Each type wears at its own pace, and a busy household goes through filters faster than a quiet one. Sediment cartridges often last a few months, carbon cartridges roughly six months to a year, and RO membranes a few years. We follow the manufacturer's guidance, look at what the old filter looks like coming out, then write down your next date.

Do you service systems you didn't install?

Yes, as long as replacement parts are still made for it. Tell us the brand when you call. If parts are hard to get, we say so up front so you're not waiting on a visit that can't finish.

Will my water be off during the visit?

Only for part of it. Under-sink work doesn't affect the rest of your home. For whole-house systems we use the bypass when there is one, so the shutoff is short.

Can I change the filters myself?

For many simple cartridge housings, yes. We're happy to show you how and which cartridge to buy. Membranes, softener valves and housings that won't seal are where a visit makes more sense.

What if new filters don't fix the taste?

Then the filter may not match your water, or the problem may be in the plumbing. We'd suggest water testing before you buy anything new. If the results point to a different setup, like whole-house carbon filtration, we explain why.
